The Diet Solution Food Journal Tues 15-Sat 19th Dec 09

I haven’t managed to write out every day on here and to be honest it seemed a little pointless because it is not exactly exciting reading for you.

So I have summarised what I have eaten in this week’s diet solution food journal that they recommend we keep.

My eating is based on my current weight – you are shown how to work out how many calories you have to eat (although calorie counting is a little bit of a waste of time – she explains why when you buy the Diet Solution program)

2,400 calories a day is my amount  – I love this diet because I can eat and lose weight which is excellent! In fact the more you eat the more you lose on this program which is different to what we are normally told. What I have learnt is when we restrict our eating and don’t eat much in the hope of losing weight it actually slows your metabolism down and the only way to speed it up is to eat and lose weight!

Breakfast 4 protein and 2 carbs

This is usually 2 eggs, 2 turkey sausages (or turkey back) = 4 protein and then spinach and a piece of fruit.

This week that is normally what I have although instead of the spinach I replaced it with porridge (oatmeal) instead. I have honey with my oatmeal and milk – both of which I guess I should stay away from but I love it!

I also have tinned sardines with spinach which I love.

Snack 3 proten and 1 carb

Usually 3 ozs of nuts (3 different variety – always raw) and a piece of fruit

Or 2 eggs, half a red pepper sliced and a cup of blueberries

1 oz of raw nuts (I usually have pumpkin seeds), 6 baby carrots and 1 cup strawberry

Lunch 5 protein and 1 carb – Lunch and Dinner are actually the same

With dinner and one of the snacks I add fat but otherwise the meals are similar which makes it easier. The fat comes from adding a salad dressing to the main meal salad.

3-5 ozs of chicken, turkey or fish with steamed veg and salad

4 oz salmon with spinach and a side salad

I have to space the meals 3 hours apart - 4 hours at the most but I am not always hungry. In between all of that I drink 8 glasses of water, usually hot/warm water.
